Alejandro (Alé) Garza began a professional career at the age of 18 years old producing and publishing his first book. Soon thereafter he moved to La Jolla, California and began working for Wildstorm studios a division of DC Comics. His artwork was featured on titles like Gen-13, Dv8, Stormwatch and WildC.A.T.S..
From there on out at the DC label he took the reigns on Batgirl, Supergirl, and Teen Titans, elevating those title to new levels. Marvel comics soon came knocking, and Alé was soon working on titles featuring Spider-Man, and key X-men Characters. A already fulfilling career soon led to work in animation, and the video game industry.
He optioned off his first television show at the age of 23, Ninja Boy, to Warner Bros, and also soon thereafter began working on other television shows such as Teen Titans, and The Batman for Kids WB. In video games towards his late 20’s Alé was the lead character artist on the upcoming DC Comics Massive Multiplayer Online game for the first year of production. A gig which would soon open the chance to be a Senior Concept artist for Cryptic Studios in Los Gatos, California.
Peppered in there were times and opportunities for Alé to taste the fine art world, and explore himself artistically. A style brought to life through times of hardship, and barflying around, he had small one day showings at the Beauty Bar in San Diego, and also 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco. Most recently outside of his commercial work Alé discovered a new look that combines all of his lifelong experiences, his knowledge, and his heart, that has been featured at The Office Bar in North Park, California. Pop art meets attitude, meets the women he has so defined his career on Alé has captured a look and an attitude all his own.
Where his artwork will take him is limitless. His ideas lend themselves to branding, and a marketability that speaks for itself. His plans for the future include an art showing, titled, “Distractions”, a look at all the things and people who have a knack for being easily swayed, a showing for the ADD generation. Whiskey, cowboy
boots, cupcake, and a moleskin, all things that speak Alé Garza.
Most recently his work has been featured on Fathom volume 3 for Aspen Comics, and Superman/ Batman. In the coming year look for Madame Mirage from Top Cow Comics, along with cover work for various publishers, and a full color oversized coffee table book entitled Super Chic, featuring all new original artwork pieces by Alé Garza.
